Benga of the Week / poll of the week

Played the BBC5, went all in early on with my pocke aces with several limpers inform of me. The guy to my left calls with pocket kings. Flop was:

7, Queen, Jack, Queen, King!

Benga!!!

Watcha gonna do? Alright, my question is this, If you have a big hand such as pocket aces, do yo show it right away to scare people off? Some players do it, I don't. I wanna know what you guys think and the reason for it.

i recently found out that it was bad table etiquette and was even against house rules in some places to reveal your cards when you are in a hand.

if showing the hand will increase or decrease certain action, meaning those who were gonna call decides to fold or those who were gonna fold decides to call, it is a violation of the rules.

they implemented it because it is tantamount to collusion. Imagine, i made you fold when i had you beat, and you were gonna call it if i didnt? sounds like collusion right?

maybe it should be implemented in our tournaments and ring games too.

that's the reason why I don't do it, It kinda felt like it was bad table etiquette.

It is bad etiquette and not allowed in many places. I never reveal cards. I trust in the probabilities...

I would, however, sell a card to be exposed. meaning if you wanna see it, pay for it. Not kosher in tourney...

even if disallowed, many would find ways to get around the rules. For example, who's to say your cards weren't "accidentally" exposed

i think it is against the best interest of the player NOT to show his or her hand AT ANY GIVEN TIME.

if you have pocket aces, just dont go all-in if youre afraid of losing your chips in a tourney. play it like A-K or something. But since you have (i think) about an 70-80% advantage over any other hand pre-flop, it's really a losing play to make them fold.
