Before Poker
Stuck in traffic, listening to friday madness - all the 80's hits , today! Got me thinking about poker, gambling, betting and more poker...
Just got home from the big c because Paul, a buddy, wanted to play some baccarat. After an hour of play I was down 3 big. I played some stud, baccarat, stud and then more baccarat. The first few minutes were fun, I was shuffling and riffling my chips, hoping to get lucky and win some party money. Then the next half hour, it wasn't fun losing 4-5 hands straight playing that damn baccarat game. No reason to tilt because that would be stupid.
The house will always win that's for sure. On the way home, I thought back on my first experiences gambling. 1. Pusoy Dos - betting 5-20 pesos per game, winner take all. 2. Playstation - 1-5k bets. Proud to say, I did (and will still) beat a lot of guys playing NBA live, including one famous UAAP cager just turned PBA pro (I just had to put that in! hehe) 3. Sports Betting - Broke even. 4. Casinos - sometimes even, most of the time broke, 'nuff said. 5. Poker - ...
Playing poker for almost 7 months now, I've learned tons of stuff, won/lost losta hands... what's the use of winning tonight when you're going to lose it tomorrow or the next week? When what matters the most is what happens in the next couple of years. Then ask yourself am I winning or losing, what do your spread sheets say?

my spreads say I suck. but not as much as No. 1 Rounder.
i recently took note of my ring game spreadsheet and honestly tallied all my wins and losses. lo and behold, due to a rush of big wins just this past week, i'm (surprisingly)UP by around almost 4,000! i couldnt believe how much money iv'e played poker with playing the ring games the past couple of months (maybe close to 50K, not as big as some people out there hehe) and i'm happy to know i havent been losing hehe.
My SNG and MTT stats are a different story. i havent computed it and i dont think i can honestly do since i havent been keeping track, but i'm most certainly DOWN hehe. The only thing that saved me from an utterly pathetic spreadsheet was a big 3rd place win in one of the major tourneys.
i wish i had the discipline to take down my stast ALL THE TIME. I'm just too damn lazy hehe.
